IrisMacro and I are trying to compile a list of happy things. It started off as a quest to find 100 things that make us happy and is affiliated with Iris' awesome blog, UNdane: Iris Jones vs. The Great Mundane.

But we're not happy with that. We won't stop 'til we're at 100 BILLION happy things! :o)

We started the #100happy tag on Twitter to try and spread the joy and also created a Flickr group to share the photographs that make us smile.

#100happy can be anything that makes you feel happy: as big as the thought that one day there might be world piece, or as silly as the realisation that there's a plate of cold sausages in your fridge when you get home from work.

Heartbreaking to Heartwarming

Considering the events of the last few days, I thought the most fitting image to share with you as the first post of this blog was a sign of hope.

Restores your faith in humanity, doesn't it. Everyone involved in the #riotcleanup (search Twitter for hashtag #riotcleanup to see how you can get involved) is an absolute hero, as are the members of the emergency services who continue to protect the community when in the face of danger.

May the streets of the UK return to being peaceful and safe very soon.
